The Possibilities of Air Transfer

We have realized that the ventilation of habitable rooms is a topic with current importance , and that the designers often solve the problem by installing slot vent kits on windows. It is not unusual, if slot vent kits are foreseen practically to every apartment window, because otherwise the Building Regulations could not be followed In practice, one or two vent kits are used and others remain closed, but the window has lost some of its valuable properties-keeping of warmth.

This problem can be solved with the help of a so-called micro-opening . In case of micro-opening, the sash that is in tilt position, opens at first ca 5 mm., providing a slit between the frame and sash, further movement of the handle allows the sash to open into normal tilt position. The micro-opener is installed into the frame rebate and is not visible from outside. The amount of the air supply depends on the size of the window.

In order not to let flies and other insects into the rooms, the windows can be equipped with removable insect screens.
